Pumpkin Face Mask

Autumn is a beautiful season with changing colors in nature. The same reason that the leaves start to alter their colors, the cooler crisp air can affect our skin as well. The beauty of fall also comes with some unwanted irritations for our skin, such as dryness and inflammation. This fall take a moment for yourself to pamper your skin.

When you think about the hustle and bustle of the holidays during fall, it may feel daunting to take time for yourself. However, there is a delectable treat for your skin that can be easily applied in the midst of your holiday cooking. A pumpkin face mask complements the season perfectly. Pumpkin is full of vitamins that are essential for your skin. The vitamin A in pumpkin is basically what you find in retinol, therefore can fight aging, such as fine lines and dark spots. Vitamin C and beta-carotene that contributes to the rich orange color of pumpkin will help with collagen production and also even out skin tone. Best of all, the amino acids and fruit enzymes, including alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), help exfoliate the skin which is so needed in the dry cold weather to remove the dead skin and refresh.

Because a pumpkin face mask is enzymatic and exfoliating, it should be used sparingly as you would not use a face peel every day! The recommendation is once a week or less. Therefore, a pumpkin face mask truly should be used as a special treat for your skin during Fall. So, put aside a scoop of pumpkin for yourself when you are making that pumpkin pie and while that pie bakes, use your five senses to relax with this nourishing face mask recipe.
