Shedding the Weight: Mind, Body and Spirit Day 21 – Bringing Light into the World

Today’s meditation teaches us that as life becomes lighter, you open a channel for the light to enter you. This is the light of awareness, freedom, truth, and love. The greatest influence you can possibly have is to radiate your own being from the level of the true self. It’s not out of duty that we let our light shine, but because it’s our joy to bring light into the world.


Bringing Light into the World

Today’s Centering Thought is: I offer my light to everyone.
Today’s Mantra: Jyoti Jyotova (The light of life extends everywhere.)

Center yourself to begin a quiet solitude of mind and spirit with the thought “I embrace my life with ease and joy.” Then begin to meditate by focusing on your breath and repeating the mantra: Jyoti Jyotova. Take deep breaths and with each breathe feel your mind body and spirit open just a little more to this affirmation. Each time your mind wanders come back by repeating this mantra and hold the meaning behind it – “The light of life extends everywhere.” Simply meditate for 20 minutes.

Today’s Journal Activities:

  1. Think back to one small burden or piece of self-judgment that was eased today or yesterday. Journal about how that happened and congratulate yourself for this victory.
  2. Describe the next small victory you want to achieve and why. For example, you might be more forgiving about your weight or more appreciative of who you are right now.
  3. Write about how you can bring more light and love to those close to you. For example, you might listen with more sympathy and notice positive things when you see them instead of letting them pass.
  4. Use this space to reflect further on your experience today.
