Faith Creates a New Reality: Day 16 of Become What You Believe – 21 Day Meditation Experience with Oprah and Deepak Chopra

If you have faith in what you want to become and believe in it, then that will become your reality. If you let others interfere with your beliefs, then that will become your reality. It’s best if our core beliefs is shared with others, as you radiate the qualities you hold dear you will create that in others and places. The route to creating unity and common beliefs is peace and being a peacemaker.

Today’s Message of the Day:

“The maturation of the core beliefs we share with others is called faith. In today’s meditation, we discover how faith, operating from the level of our expanded awareness, creates a new reality. This kind of faith is not necessarily a religiously devotional faith. Rather, it is the collective movement and influence of peacefulness from the experience of the unity of spirit.

When we live the personal reality of peace, we become peacemakers. Our individual energy then aligns with the realities of other peacemakers, generating a wave of goodness throughout the world. This is how the phenomenon of faith within our awareness joins with others and becomes a great agency of transformation that creates a new, peaceful reality.”

The CENTERING THOUGHT for today’s meditation experience was:

“I place faith in my true self.”

The SANSKRIT MANTRA used in the meditation:

Om Shanti Om

(I radiate my essence as peace.)

Repeating this mantra echoes that we create peace from the silent core of our being.

Today’s four journal prompts were:

  1. Think of one area in your life where there is discord, an argument, butting of heads, resistance, etc. Write down the ways you contribute to the situation.
  2. Now describe how the other person in the conflict sees the situation. Approach this with openness and respect, rather than an attitude of who is right or wrong.
  3. Find the place inside yourself where you see a peaceful solution. You don’t have to make the solution come true right now. Just be aware that simply coming from this peaceful place, without judgment, makes you a peacemaker. Write down your feelings about how this conflict resolution would make an impact on your life.
  4. Use this space to reflect further on your experience today.

To become a peacemaker you must bring peace within yourself. The first step to embracing peace is to be peaceful within yourself, as all forms of violence in the world begin with inner turmoil, you cannot stop this aggression if you do not stop your ow inner angst. Next, take the initiative to carefully listen to and attend to the needs of others. Dispute will continue as long as either party feels injustice. A peacemaker works towards the solution objectively.

  1. Meditation. It seems like such a simple word, but it has the power to chagne your life, attitude and priorities. There are times when I sit down to meditate and my puppy mind starts to wander. It’s amazing the things your mind will come up with to keep you from being quiet and restful. All the errands that need to be run, all the things that need attending to .. I breathe and concentrate on my breath and tell my mind to take a break. I breathe and breathe in and out and then THERE IT IS. The colors I see when I close my eyes and get in the zone of wonderful glorious breath. As I breathe the colors deepen and my body starts to calm and disappear. And just for that 15 or 20 minutes (sometimes even 10) I am at one with everything. I’m calm and tuned in to me and my connection to this universe and beyond. As I come back into myself my breath steady, my heart beat in time with life, I open my eyes and its as if I am seeing the world in technicolor. I notice things I didn’t before my practice, and for a few hours afterward I see the world as a kinder, gentler place. Because for a few hours I am a kinder and gentler being. Namaste’
