A Typical Day on the Miracle Metabolism Diet

I have had some reader interest in what my typical day looks like on the Metabolism Miracle Diet. Before, I move on to phase two, I thought I would give you a peek into my general menu and the staples I keep in my pantry. So, here is my rundown of what I eat any typical day on this diet.

First let’s list what I always keep on hand.

Natural Peanut Butter

Low Sugar or Sugar Free Jam

Low Carb Whole Wheat Bread

Carb Balance Tortilla

Pistachios (roasted and salted or unsalted)

Cashews (be careful because cashews are high calorie)

Splenda

Diet Coke

Coffee

Tea

Heavy Whipping Cream

Cheese (Any kind – Swiss, Chedar, string cheese for snacking)

Greek Yogurt

Meals For The Day

Generally my morning involves toast using low carb bread. I spread it thick with peanut butter and lightly with low sugar jam. Keep in mind that peanut butter is a freebie and it really helps me get through my morning. I add coffee or tea to that and if I need to sweeten it, I use Splenda. If I need to add cream, a splash of heavy cream is totally ok. When I have time, I may make scrambled eggs or an omelet loaded with cheese and vegies.

If I snack in between, it is usually on nuts or cheese. I’m not a big fan of raw veggies, so I like to make big batches of soup to eat in between meals as well. I have posted a few good soup recipes in the past. I love cream of broccoli or eggplant basil soup to fill me up.

For lunch I may make a sandwich with any kind of deli meat, like turkey or roast beef using on slice of low carb bread with cheese and mayo.  I may opt for a wrap as well, but dinner usually consists of some kind of wrap with a Carb Balance Tortilla.

I keep grilled chicken on hand or I make kebabs on my indoor grill. I top off with a sprinkle of cheese, sour cream and roasted peppers or cucumbers. It is quite fulfilling with a diet soda to wash it down. I might add a side of sautéed mushrooms as well. When I have more time to prepare dinner, I may make steaks with asparagus on the side and I save the 5 grams of carb for desert. Otherwise, if I’m up late enough for desert, which is 5 hours after dinner, I will usually do a ¼ cup of Greek yogurt with Splenda and cinnamon. It is absolutely indulgent.

That is a synopsis of the menu.  My meal schedule goes something like this:  I eat breakfast around 8 am, lunch is at 1 pm and dinner is at approximately 6 pm.  In between I have as much soup, cheese and nuts as I want.  If you head out to work early and eat  breakfast earlier, then you may be looking at meals at 7 am, 12 pm, and 5 pm.  In this scenario, you should go for some yogurt or something around 10 pm if you are still awake. If you are a late dinner person, then eat some yogurt around 5 pm and eat your dinner at 10 pm like the Italians do 🙂  Remember, Kress advises that if you are still up at midnight and you are due for 5 grams of carb then go for it!
