Getaway to Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort

Depending on the kind of work you do, you may be lucky enough to have this upcoming Monday off for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. It’s an American Federal Holiday marking the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr. Did you know that is wasn’t until the year 2000 that all 50 states have recognized and observed the holiday? It is a fairly new observance having first been signed into law by President Ronald Reagan in 1983 and it was first observed three years later when some states resisted observing the holiday as such, giving it alternative names or combining it with other holidays. While all states now observe the holiday, some did not name the day after King. In remembrance of the Baptist Minister who put himself on the line to contribute to what America is today, on Monday, January 16 many of us will remain home or attend celebrations. Martin Luther King Jr. was a leader in the Civil Rights Movement and spearheaded the advancement of civil rights using nonviolent civil disobedience based on his Christian beliefs.

If you are taking advantage of this three-day weekend and getting out of town, I have a peaceful little resort to share with you out in Indian Wells, CA. Why the Hyatt Regency at Indian Wells on Martin Luther King Jr. weekend? Well, one significant recognition this resort holds is that it hosted Chinese President Xi and his wife while they visited with President Obama in the area. The two Presidents discussed their commitment to work together and build a relationship on partnership, not conflict.

If you want to stay close to the pool, then soak up the sun while sipping on refreshing cocktails from the Oasis Bar at the main pool.  I have to mention that the pool area is quite busy with evening entertainment, such as movies over the pool while you soak in the warm water.

Lantana

Lantana is there open-kitchen restaurant that serves fresh, seasonal cuisine and California wines. Reserve a table on the outdoor terrace and enjoy panoramic views of the desert.
