21-Day Meditation Experience, “Getting Unstuck: Creating a Limitless Life” Day 7 – Opening the Doors of Perception

It’s the end of our first week together and we have explored pushing the boundaries of the present moment. Welcome to Day 7 – Opening the Doors of Perception. A simple act of awareness on how you perceive things can really change your life.

One person can get stuck or upset about the same news while another stays calm and reacts gracefully. It is all about perception.

Every event in life is colored by our perceptions. Your creativity is influencing every situation. No situation gets meaning until you give it meaning. Use your creativity to perceive in an open minded way. Color your situations for a better version of yourself and a personal reality.

“If the doors of perception were cleansed every thing would appear to man as it is, Infinite.” – William Blake

CENTERING THOUGHT
Today I am creating a better version of myself.

SANSKRIT MANTRA
Om Hreem Hoom (I am silent awareness transforming itself.)
This Mantra opens our awareness to continuous transformation from the limitless creativity of our true self.

MESSAGE OF THE DAY

If we want our life to flow instead of being stuck, we need to first change the way we perceive the world around us. Because the experience of stuckness is the perception of limited choices, if we change our perception, we change our experience of life in the moment. In today’s meditation, we explore how our self-awareness transforms our perception, clearing away old conditioning, beliefs, and patterns so that we experience our self and our world in its true light.

JOURNAL QUESTIONS

1. How you perceive yourself determines your reality. Journal about the three most positive perceptions you have about yourself. Reflect on how these qualities bring light and positivity into your life.
2. On the other side of the coin, list three self-critical perceptions you have about yourself. Now, bring to mind someone you know who doesn’t see these negative aspects in you. Write down in detail why you believe your negative perception is right and why that other person’s positive perception is wrong.
3. Compare the two lists. Can you begin to shift away from your old negative perception to the positive perceptions others have of you? Write down ways you can make this shift. For example, “I will not run myself down,” “I will tell my negativity that it is false and no longer needed,” or “I will discuss a more positive perception with someone who already sees me in a positive light.”
4. Reflect further on your experience today.
