Mindful Eating & Cooking Magic: Chamomile Tea Meditation

On Monday, we will have a guided tea meditation for Mindful Eating and Cooking Magic. The ritual of tea involves everything from preparing the tea to finishing it and cleaning up. I think tea is one of the best choices to practice mindful eating and naturally sitting with calmness.
You can use any kind of tea you prefer to follow along, however I will be using chamomile tea.

Here is what you will need to prepare for Monday:

Chamomile Tea

Ingredients

3-4 Tbsp. fresh chamomile or 2 Tbsp. chamomile flowers (optional, you can use any kind of loose tea you prefer)
1 small, fresh sprig of mint
8 oz. boiling water

Other Materials
Tea cup
Tea pot or jar with lid (preferably glass)
Sieve or cheese cloth

Method

Boil 8 ounces of water in a pot.

Measure 2 tablespoons of dried chamomile flowers or 4 tablespoons of fresh chamomile flowers.

When measuring the flowers, whether dried or fresh, pack the measuring spoon tightly. Decrease or increase the ratio of chamomile flowers to water, for a weaker or stronger tea.

Remove the pot of water from the heat, once the water starts rapidly boiling. Pour the water into a teapot or jar and then place or stir the chamomile flowers in the water. Place a lid on the pot or jar and let the chamomile flowers steep in the water for five minutes. You can decrease or increase the steeping time for a weaker or stronger tea.

Place a small sieve or cheese cloth on top of a cup.

Pour the chamomile tea through the sieve or cheese cloth into the cup. The sieve catches the chamomile flowers but lets the tea through.

If using fresh flowers, garnish your tea with a flower (optional).
