21-Day Meditation Experience, “Getting Unstuck: Creating a Limitless Life” Day 4 – How to Be Renewed Every Day

We have been discussing getting unstuck in terms of creative living and it is now Day 4 of our 21-Day Meditation Experience. The rule for any kind of “stuckness” is something has to give. The primary thing is for you to take responsibility. Instead of looking at it as surrendering to the other side, look at it as a joyful choice and a chance to be free creative and growing. Once you break the mold of repetitive behavior, renewal comes naturally.

Day 4 – How to Be Renewed Every Day

“I can hardly wait for tomorrow, it means a new life for me each and every day.” – Stanley Kunitz

CENTERING THOUGHT

I embrace the newness of this day.

SANSKRIT MANTRA

Om Sarvatva Namah (The wholeness of the universe is my true nature.)
This mantra sets the intention to open your individuality to its true universality, the wholeness of cosmic awareness. As we connect with our essence, we are revitalized, restored, and renewed.

MESSAGE OF THE DAY

Today’s meditation teaches us that when we rely upon familiar repetition to guide us through life – instead of stepping into the ever-new possibilities of the present moment – we remain in a stale, stuck pattern of living. When we learn to fully embrace the limitless potential in the now, we are continuously renewed and liberated from the stuckness of powerlessness and blame. Living in a state of renewal then becomes easy and natural.

JOURNAL QUESTIONS

1. To make something new happen, you have to drop something old. Journal about three things you find yourself doing repeatedly, even though they never work. Some examples are stubbornly trying to be right, arguing against someone who is never going to change, or staying home even though it makes you feel lonely.
2. For each of these repeated responses that don’t work, decide to simply release your mental hold on them today. Jot down a handful of feelings you imagine you would experience in a life free from these stuck habits.
3. Now write down how it worked out when you dropped an old behavior from your past that never worked in the first place. Look ahead to being better at this tomorrow and reflect on how what new creative opportunities you imagine could arise from this change.
4. Reflect further on your experience today.

Note:
Just like history – wars, politics, ideologies, if we continue to follow old practices, history will repeat itself. If you want to break away from the same things, then you have to do things differently. Be creative and change. According to Eckhart Tolle, the primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation. Be aware of the thought you are thinking. Separate them from the situation. Change your perspective and you will change the situation.
